Sophisticated interior design in La Finca · Project

This project in Madrid takes us to the interior of the Hollywood homes of the 30s and 40s. Carolina Gall shows us how to achieve this effect through careful and sophisticated interior design in which we can see two stacked sideboards from the Adara Collection.

Momocca: What kind of project are we looking at?

Carolina Gall: In this case it was a brand-new house in La Finca (Pozuelo de Alarcón). The house already came with excellent qualities, and we have done the interior design, furniture, decorative wallpapers, and decoration of props.

M: The photos show us an exquisite taste, could we know what type of client this interior design is aimed at?

CG: Julia, the client of this house, is a woman with great sophistication, she was very clear about the type of decoration she wanted. She asked me for mostly dark elements such as textiles and furniture and above all, with very few decorative elements in the furniture.

M: Based on these premises, what was your inspiration for the interior design?

CG: We were inspired by the 30’s and 40’s with many features of Hollywood homes. This type of sophisticated interiors is also coupled with the inspiration that my own client evokes for me, she is a very elegant woman.

The first step in any project is to study the profile of each client, their tastes and needs in order to be able to realise exactly what they want.

M: What is the role of art in this interior design?

CG: Works of art are elements that make the difference in these wonderful spaces. We have worked with great artists because we believe that it is the whole, putting in these types of significant elements makes the whole special. One example is the yellow statue of Olga Moriones on the Adara.

Decorative wallpapers are also a must, nowadays there is so much variety… we love playing with different textures to create unique and sophisticated spaces.

M: How does Momocca fit into this sophisticated environment and why did you opt for two Adara sideboards in this configuration?

CG: We wanted to look for a perfect symmetry in the furniture to break with the asymmetry of the sculptures we put on top of them. The Adara model gave us just that, we love Momocca for the clean and original designs and of course for its tremendous quality, we knew it was a safe bet.

M: The tones of the furniture, the decoration, the textiles… What role does colour contrast play in this project?

CG: When my client asked me for the textiles to be dark, I also wanted to add a bit of brightness and light to the other elements so that the result wouldn’t be too boring. I wanted them to enjoy the colour and take away the fear of having other tones that were not neutral. Being sincere, the result was spectacular, and clients are delighted!

M: The tones of the furniture, the decoration, the textiles… What role does colour contrast play in this project?
