M: What role does art play in achieving that character?
II: Often the client has a first idea and on the other hand, we make a selection of proposals. Then the client opens his eyes and discovers the potential the space has.
For example, in this case, we presented these details with bright colours, different, carefree works of art, there is even a selection of animals that give a youthful touch, but at the same time very careful. The art here conveys the couple’s own character.
M: Along with the art and the colour of the decoration. The beam and the concrete partition wall contrast with each other, what were you looking for with this effect?
II: We wanted a point of contrast with the moulding and the lacquered wood cladding we did to hide the doors. Beam and partition are immovable structural elements so instead of softening it we gave it importance and thus achieved a brutalist touch. To complete, we chose a polished concrete floor.
We added all the upholstery to balance the atmosphere. With the floor, the beam, the whites… the house could be short of warmth. We printed the warmth through the carpet and the fabrics. We looked for an eclectic mix when selecting the fabrics.
